Three things
One is that the project combines two things I'm passionate about, music and image-making. If I need projects to keep myself engaged and refreshed, and I do, I can't think of a better mix.
The second thing is that evolving is one of the key words here. There may not be a cohesive vision that drives this or a singular style behind it. Over the course of the project, the style, presentation and content may change as my approach to this changes. I've only shot the obvious so far; we'll see where the project takes me.
The third thing is that I've done this website in HTML, CSS and Javascript, which is why there are no widgets, comments or any of the other Web 2.0 goodness you've come to expect. Graphically, it's very plain. Sometimes, it's nice to go back to the basics. The slideshow is powered by Flexslider.
About me
At the moment of this writing, I'm a 59-year-old Vancouver resident. I teach journalism at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, after toiling in that field for two and a half decades or so. I blog infrequently and tweet rather more often and I'm on Google+. I attempt to make music of my own, primarily on guitar, violin and bouzouki, but do not devote nearly enough time to that. You can contact me by e-mail at mark [at] tamark [dot] ca.
Oh. And the reason I'm gmarkham on most of those other accounts is that by the time I signed on, Mark Hamilton was always taken.
